I'm not sure, but I suspect Sunrise Medical is one of the few HME manufacturers with its own Facebook page. The company recently used the social networking site to conduct a contest with Quickie wheelchair users, asking them to enter photos of themselves with a caption of why they thought “Nothing Beats a Quickie.”

10 Items or Less divx

The company received more than 130 picture submissions from Quickie users around the world.

2 Days in Paris video The top 3 winners were announced May 26. They'll receive new Quickie wheelchairs, and the top winner will be featured in an upcoming Quickie advertisement.

Go to the Facebook page and check out the photos. They're great, and the winning photo will knock your socks off.

This is cutting edge stuff, and Sunrise is using the social network to bond more tightly with people who use Quickie wheelchairs.

Social networks are exploding on the Internet, and they represent a tremendous business opportunity for providers and manufacturers. The trick is figuring out  how to integrate them into your business. That Sunrise has begun the process is very impressive.
