Wheelchair providers: Would you want the Grocery Mate on your store shelves?
Students in a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Product Engineering class have designed a basket that attaches to wheelchairs and holds up to 40 pounds worth of items. The idea behind the Grocery Mate: Making it easier for people who use wheelchairs to grocery shop. See the students give a presentation on the basket below. Great idea, right? My questions to wheelchair providers: Would you want the Grocery Mate on your store shelves as a wheelchair accessory sold for cash? Do you think people who use wheelchairs or their family members would pay $200 for the device? (Another question on another note: How about that MIT website? Real slick!)
