LEXINGTON, Ky. - Patients with COPD and multiple comorbidities, like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and asthma, are more likely to have increased medical costs, according to a study released by the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. COPD patients without comorbidities spent about $4,800 on health care, while those with four or more comorbidities spent nearly $28,000.
