WASHINGTON – AAHomecare’s quarterly supplier number tracking sheet is now available with January 2024 data. AAHomecare monitors the DMEPOS industry by reviewing the list of Medicare enrolled suppliers. The updated tracking sheet continues to show a slight decline from last quarter’s update. The association now estimates there are currently 8,005 traditional Medicare DMEPOS locations across the country. The data shows a 38% decrease in traditional DME supplier locations since 2013....

CMS updates DMEPOS payments

WASHINGTON – CMS today announced a 9.1% increase for competitively bid DMEPOS items in non-competitive bidding areas and a 6.4% increase for bid items in former CBAs for calendar year 2023, AAHomecare reports.  Non-bid items will receive an 8.7% increase.  Typically, the CPI-U increases for DME have been 1%-3%. Improper payment rate drops

WASHINGTON – The improper payment rate for DMEPOS was 28.6% from July 2019 through June 2020, a 3.2% decrease from the prior year, according to the latest 2021 Medicare Fee-for-Service Supplemental Improper Payment Data Report from CMS. CMS finalizes reimbursement relief in rural areas
