OCR to ramp up HIPAA audits this year

WASHINGTON - The Office of Civil Rights has launched phase 2 of its HIPAA Audit Program in 2016, the agency announced March 21. The OCR has begun to obtain and verify contact information for various types of covered entities and business associates to be included in potential audit pools.
