Whitelisting Instructions

Whitelisting email addresses within your email client or your Internet security software and adding email addresses to a safe senders list allows those addresses to come safely into your inbox without them being placed in your junk or spam folder. Each program has different steps in order to do this. Please click on the link for the software you have and follow the instructions.

Thunderbird (PC)

1. Click on the Address Book button. 
2. Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted. 
3. Click on the New Card button. This will open a new Card window with 3 tabs to add information in. 
4. Under the Contact tab fill in the persons fIrst and last name and then copy and paste or type the address you wish to whitelist into the email field. 
5. Click OK. 

Next you need to whitelist your Personal Address book. 

1. From the mail Thunderbird screen, select Tools > Account Settings... 
2. Select Junk Settings 
3. Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to Do not mark mail as junk if the sender is in: and that the drop down menu lists Personal Address Book. 
4. Click OK.

Thunderbird (Mac)

1. Click on the Address Book button.

Outlook 2007 (PC)

1. On the tools menu, click Options. 
2. On the Preferences tab, click Junk Email. 
3. On the Safe Senders tab, click Add. 
4. In the Add Address field, copy and paste or type in the address that you wish to whitelist. 
5. Click OK.

Outlook XP/2003 (PC)

1. Click on Tools > Address Book. 
2. Choose Contacts. 
3. Click on File > New Entry. 
4. Highlight New Contact and click OK. 
5. Enter the contacts information 
6. Click on the floppy disk icon to Save & Close.

1. Click on the Address Book icon. 
2. Click on New > Contact. 
3. Enter the contacts information. 
4. Click OK.

Windows Mail (PC)

1. Click on Tools > Junk Email Options... 
2. On the Safe Senders tab, you can manually enter email addresses that will never be treated as spam. 
3. Click on Apply and OK.

1. Click on Window > Address Book. 
2. Click on New Card. 
3. Enter the persons contact information. 
4. Click OK.

1. Click on the Address Book in the toolbar. 
2. Click on the New button. 
3. Enter a Nickname for the entry. 
4. Fill out the users name and email addresses that you would like to whitelist. 
5. Close the Address Book. 
6. Click Save in the Save changes to Address Book? dialog box. 
7. Click on Tools > Options... 
8. Click on Junk Mail on the left pane 
9. Make sure there is a check-mark in the box next to Mail isn't junk if the sender is in an address book. 
10. If you place a check-mark in the box next to Put Non Junk-ed senders in address book, you will not have to manually enter each entry. 
11. Click OK.

1. Click on the Address Book in the toolbar. 
2. Click on the Entry button. 
3. Enter a Nickname for the entry.

1. Click on your Address Book icon in the dock. 
2. Click on File > New Card. 
3. Add the persons, contact information to the new card. 
4. Click the Edit button to save the entry.

1. Click on Address Book in the left pane. 
2. Click on New > Contact. 
3. Add the persons' name and email address. 
4. Click on Save & Close.
