AdaptHeatlh acquires WellSpan Medical Equipment

LEBANON, Pa. – WellSpan Health has sold its durable medical equipment business, WellSpan Medical Equipment, to AdaptHealth effective June 1, according to local news reports. “WellSpan is constantly evaluating the rapidly changing health care landscape throughout the communities we serve to determine how to best continue providing high-quality care,” a spokesperson said. The AdaptHealth acquisition should improve focus on the health system’s primary business of direct patient care, WellSpan said. WellSpan Medical Equipment locations are expected to close May 30, but customers should be able to access the same medical equipment through mail order, the company said.
