America Wellness Group makes platform play with NHMS acquisition

WASHINGTON – America Wellness Group (AWG) has acquired New Hampshire Medical Supply (NHMS), a Washington, D.C.-based independent home medical equipment (HME) provider, with plans to build a national platform.

"This is our first acquisition in the HME segment, and it was deliberately chosen to be the first of many," said Marcio Lima, CEO of AWG. "We're building a national home medical equipment platform, one exceptional local operator at a time."

Founded in 1962, NHMS has helped patients across the Washington, D.C., area and Maryland live safely and independently at home from six locations.

AWG will keep NHMS’s name, team and locations. What’s new, the company says, is the infrastructure behind the scenes – AWG's and NHMS’s technology platforms, billing systems and AI-enabled operations, designed to help high-performing local operators scale.

“We look forward to helping AWG continue to grow the platform," said April Mason, managing director at Paragon Ventures, which represented NHMS in the transaction. "Their dedication to patient service, combined with genuinely innovative, advanced technologies, point to a new era in home medical equipment."
