In brief: DASCO partners with Vandy, Sunrise Medical buys MfM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – DASCO Home Medical Equipment and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) have formed a joint venture to operate Carefluent Connect, VUMC’s durable medical equipment company.
The partnership brings DASCO’s proven operational expertise to help fulfill Carefluent Connect’s mission of delivering a seamless, patient-centered DME experience across Middle Tennessee.
Originally created by VUMC to close gaps in the discharge and home equipment process, Carefluent Connect was built to serve both patients and care teams with a higher standard of service, access, and efficiency. Working with RBC Capital Markets, VUMC sought out a partnership that would allow Carefluent Connect to scale its impact and better serve patients during their transition from hospital to home. Through this new joint venture, DASCO will lead day-to-day operations as the managing partner.
“Carefluent Connect was designed to improve the way patients receive equipment and support beyond the hospital,” said Teresa Dail, emeritus president of Carefluent Connect. “This joint venture with DASCO brings the operational depth and experience we need to grow, improve access, and fully realize that vision.”
The joint venture will focus on providing respiratory equipment like oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and CPAP machines, along with mobility aids, and other durable medical equipment. The JV will continue to provide a patient and provider focused solution with the continued goal of meeting the patient where their needs are in the effort to improve outcomes for both Vanderbilt patients and the broader community. “We are honored to join forces with Vanderbilt through this joint venture,” said Jason Seeley, president of DASCO. “By managing Carefluent Connect, we’ll be able to apply our experience to strengthen operations and help more patients receive the care and equipment they need to thrive at home.”

Sunrise Medical expands pediatric offerings with MfM acquisition
FRESNO, Calif. – Sunrise Medical has acquired Made for Movement (MfM), a specialist in neurorehabilitation therapeutic devices designed to restore and enable movement for individuals with complex mobility needs. The deal enhances Sunrise Medical’s pediatric offerings.
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Norway, MfM’s flagship products — including the Innowalk, Innowalk Pro, and NF-Walker — support early and intensive therapy through motor-assisted standing and robotic gait training. These devices play a critical role in improving patient outcomes and enabling fuller participation in daily life, the company says.
While traditionally focused on pediatrics, MfM’s recent expansion into adult care further strengthens the overlap with Sunrise Medical’s user base.

REQ named top business in NH
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Rehabilitation Equipment Associates in Manchester, N.H., has been named Business of the Year 2025 – Health Care (Small Company) by Business NH Magazine. REQ, along with other award winners, was honored at a ceremony on June 6 at the Double Tree by Hilton Manchester Downtown Hotel. Janet and Karl Soderquist, CEO and president of the company, respectively, started the company in their garage more than 40 years ago. The company, which bills itself as the largest privately owned complex rehab technology provider in New Hampshire, also has satellite locations in Haverhill, Mass., and Lewiston, Maine.
