Invacare joins Medical Mart movement

ELYRIA, Ohio - A familiar name in the HME industry announced last week that it's throwing its weight behind the Cleveland Medical Mart & Convention Center (Cleveland MMCC).

Invacare has signed a letter of intent to join the downtown marketplace, which will include a Medical Mart (235,000 square feet of showroom space for manufacturers and service providers); a trade-show facility; and a conference center.

“We are proud to be a healthcare company based in Cleveland and there is no better way to show our dedication to the city and the healthcare industry than to give our support to the Medical Mart,” stated Chairman Mal Mixon in a release.

The partnership was announced during ceremonial groundbreaking festivities Jan. 14.

The Medical Mart & Convention Center, which will span 1 million square feet, is slated to open in 2013.

“Designed to bring buyers and sellers together, Cleveland MMCC is the world's only facility targeted specifically to the medical and healthcare industries,” accord to its website.

Invacare will use the Medical Mart to highlight the value of home health care, according to its release.
