Medline helps Iowa Ortho streamline operations, improve procurement

NORTHFIELD, Ill. - Medline has announced a prime vendor agreement with Des Moines, Iowa-based Iowa Ortho, which offers medical evaluations and medical care for a wide variety of areas ranging from general orthopedics to sports medicine to neck and spine. Under the agreement, Iowa Ortho has:
- Access to Medline’s portfolio of products and data to help drive increased standardization, operational efficiency and cost savings across the organization
- The added stability to acquire the products it needs to deliver care and proactive communication on price changes, backorder updates, inventory tracking and reporting to guide its strategic business decisions.
“Efficiency and reliability in our supply chain are critical to maintaining the high level of care our patients expect,” said Julie Walker, clinical operations manager at Iowa Ortho. “This partnership with Medline gives us greater visibility into our procurement operations, helps us manage costs and allows our staff to stay focused on what matters most – exceptional patient outcomes.” Iowa Ortho, which has 14 locations in the state, has served patients in the metro Des Moines area for more than 70 years. Its 26 specialty physicians offer a variety of services and procedures to meet the diverse needs of patients, including injectable therapy, surgery, casting/bracing and imaging. “Supporting Iowa Ortho means working with a team that’s deeply invested in providing the latest care focused on their patients,” said Brenna Hansen, physician office representative at Medline. “We’re proud to provide the tools, data and flexibility they need to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving health care landscape.”
