ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Members can register for the National Community Pharmacists Association's (NCPA) 45th annual Legislative Conference, scheduled for May 7-8, 2013 in Washington, D.C., according to a press release. The Legislative Conference is designed to bring community pharmacists to Capitol Hill to advocate for the value of independent community pharmacies. “This is a pivotal year for independent community pharmacy, with issues such as cuts to Medicare reimbursement rates for diabetes testing supplies, mandatory mail order programs, and changes to compounding regulations on the table,” stated B. Douglas Hoey, CEO of NCPA. He added that the conference will “give members of Congress and others a chance to hear directly from the people on the front line of providing patient care.” The conference coincides with the Community Pharmacy Advocacy Week, held from May 6-10. NCPA members can register here.
