NSM makes high profile appointment

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - National Seating & Mobility and its private equity owner Cinven have appointed William H. Frist, M.D., the former U.S. Senate majority leader, as a special adviser to the company's board of directors. In this role, Frist will provide insight, counsel and strategic guidance on national and state policy affecting the complex rehab technology and home access industries. “Senator Frist has a deep knowledge of the health care marketplace and is well respected for his contributions to life-changing health policies,” said Bill Mixon, CEO of NSM. “His role as a special advisor to the NSM board will strengthen our industry's work to introduce constructive policy changes in support of individuals with mobility challenges.” Frist served as a senator from 1995-2007 and as majority leader from 2003-07. As a senator, he helped to shape national policy for individuals with disabilities as chairman of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Disability Policy. Currently, Frist serves as adjunct professor of cardiac surgery at Vanderbilt University.
