PHS sees Florida as ‘positive move’

Adam NielsenROSEVILLE, Minn. – Pediatric Home Service has entered the Florida market with its acquisition of Jacksonville-based All About Pediatrics, one of two recent acquisitions the company has made as it continues to build out its platform, says CEO Adam Nielsen

PHS already had a longstanding relationship with All About Pediatrics, which provides respiratory therapy and enteral nutrition though three locations in Jacksonville, Orlando and Palm City.

“We’re always looking for companies that work well with the continuum of services that we provide,” says Nielsen. “Our goal is to provide children across the country with the ability to access the services we provide, and we look at Florida as a positive market and a positive move for us.”

PHS also recently acquired Richardson, Texas-based Apple Homecare Medical Supply, a full-service HME provider specializing in pediatrics and supplies, further expanding its footprint in the state. The company, which also serves patients in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas, has sought to build a national platform since partnering in 2018 with InTandem Capital Partners, a health care services-focused private equity firm.

Through organic and inorganic growth, as well as an expansion of its service offerings, PHS has been “putting those pieces together” to create that platform, says Nielsen.

“PHS offers pretty much the full gamut of products and services that these patients could need,” he said. “We believe that bringing together what we’ve labeled a Pediatric Center of Excellence to all of our services lines is part of our responsibility (to these patients).”

PHS believes its responsibility to patients also goes beyond products and services to include community involvement. The company recently made a donation to Toys for Tots and regularly participates in local fundraisers and events.

“These children have a lot of needs and a lot of those needs aren't just answered through care,” he said. “It's answered through creating a community around the children.”
