RESNA offers reduced application fee for SMS certification

ARLINGTON, Va. - RESNA is offering a discount on the application fee for the Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) certification from March 5 until April 13, 2013, according to a press release. Applications received during this period will receive $50 off the regular fee of $250. The SMS certification focuses specifically on seating, positioning and mobility, and is considered an advanced certification, the release states. To quality for the exam, which is intended for clinicians, providers, engineers and others, candidates must have their ATP (Assistive Technology Professional) certification; and have a minimum of 1,000 hours of direct, in-person consumer service delivery experience in seating and mobility.
