Rotech buys Boardman's respiratory biz

GIRARD, Ohio - Rotech Healthcare has bought the respiratory assets of Boardman Medical Supply, based here, expanding its presence in Ohio.

As part of the deal, some of Boardman Medical Supply's employees will go to work for Rotech, which will be renting part of the company's building in Girard, according to WKBN, a local news station.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Boardman Medical Supply team into the Rotech family and expand our presence in Northeast Ohio and the Mahoning Valley,” said Timothy Pigg, CEO. “We look forward to serving both patients and the medical community with the same quality customer service and focus on patient care you've counted on since 1982.”

Rotech has 10 locations in Ohio.

Boardman Medical Supply, which relied on respiratory for 65% of its business, will remain open, providing non-respiratory products like wheelchairs, walkers and TENS units, according to WKBN.

“We're still going to be Boardman Medical Supply,” General Manager Robin Ivany told the news station. “We didn't give up our name. We didn't give up our phone number. We're just transitioning our respiratory patients.”

Boardman Medical Supply also has locations in Boardman, East Liverpool and Warren.
