Walgreens to sell infusion biz?

DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens is shopping around its infusion services business, according to news reports. On offer, through Bank of America: a controlling stake of just more than 50% in Walgreens Infusion Services—a deal that could value the division at $1.5 billion, reports say. Walgreens became the largest U.S. provider of home infusion services in 2010 when it swapped its long-term care pharmacy business for OmniCare's home infusion business. Earlier this year, rival CVS acquired Coram, the home infusion services business unit of Apria Healthcare Group, for about $2.1 billion.
