DUBLIN, Ohio – Cardinal Health will acquire the diabetes business of AdaptHealth and all of Strive Medical, a provider specializing in urology supplies, for about $360 million cash. This follows the company’s acquisition of Advanced Diabetes Supplies (ADS) in 2025.
"These strategic transactions build on the synergies created by our recent investments in home care," said Jason Hollar, CEO, Cardinal Health. "As a natural extension of our at-Home Solutions growth strategy, they expand our enterprise-wide depth and breadth across important therapeutic categories like diabetes management and urology, further strengthening our leadership in a highly dynamic industry."
About AdaptHealth & Strive Medical
- AdaptHealth's diabetes business, which serves more than 225,000 people annually, operates primarily as a centralized, mail-order, direct-to-patient model that delivers supplies like continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) to support the ongoing management of diabetes.
- Strive Medical serves more than 20,000 people annually, providing urology, wound care, ostomy, and incontinence supplies.
Enhancing the ADS framework
Cardinal recently highlighted the progress of its at-Home Solutions business one year after its acquisition of ADS. Since closing that transaction, the company says the team has successfully migrated all ADS volume onto the at-Home Solutions distribution network, onboarded nearly 500,000 new customers, and launched ContinuCare Pathway, a unique pharmacy-to-supplier digital referral pathway program.
"Our significant operational achievements in FY26 position us to continue building the country's leading platform to deliver simplified, innovative and high-quality care in the home, both organically and through acquisition," said Rob Schlissberg, president of Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions.
Cardinal Health also owns Edgepark.
AdaptHealth focuses on core business, capital redeployment
AdaptHealth says the $235 million divestiture of the diabetes business is the company's latest - and most significant - step to focus on its core businesses of sleep, respiratory and supporting HME business lines.
"We are confident that in Cardinal Health, Diabetes Health is going to an owner that has the scale and operational capabilities required to realize the asset's full potential," said Suzanne Foster, CEO of AdaptHealth. "For AdaptHealth this transaction allows us to redeploy capital toward our core strengths, further strengthen our balance sheet and accelerate our pursuit of the compelling growth opportunities ahead of us in sleep and respiratory care."
Next steps
Cardinal Health says the transactions are subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including receipt of required regulatory approvals, and are expected to be accretive to non-GAAP earnings per share in the first 12 months following close.
