DeVilbiss ramps up workforce

SOMERSET, Pa. - In response to growing demand for its products, DeVilbiss has increased its U.S. workforce by more than 20%, the company announced Sept. 25. DeVilbiss has also increased its manufacturing hours from 12 to 16 hours a day with two eight-hour shifts. “The high quality and lower total cost of ownership of our products has driven our sales growth,” stated President and CEO Ed Murphy in a press release. DeVilbiss has hired 33 assemblers and a manufacturing supervisor, three manufacturing engineers and a technician, and three quality engineers and two technicians. As of 2013, the company has been manufacturing all of its products at its facility here.
