Diabetic supply company settles with OIG

WASHINGTON - Diabetes supply company Four Leaf Clover, telemarketing company Team Tech Solutions and their owners have agreed to be excluded from participating in federal healthcare programs as part of a settlement with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced Jan. 7. The OIG charged the companies and their owners with breaking federal law by using illegal telemarketing to generate fraudulent Medicare claims, according to a release. The government alleged that Four Leaf Clover contracted with Team Tech Solutions to make unsolicited calls to Medicare recipients, paying Team Tech Solutions for each beneficiary referred for diabetes supplies. “These settlements underscore OIG's commitment to protecting seniors from fraudulent DME telemarketing scams,” said Gregory Demske, chief counsel, in the release. Four Leaf Clover Owner and President William Sweeney and former Co-owner and COO Michael Sweeney are permanently banned from participating in federal healthcare programs, while Team Tech Solutions and its Owner and President Justin Ortiz will be excluded for 10 years, according to the release. No judgment or finding of liability was made against the companies or owners.
