HME News names new managing editor

YARMOUTH, Maine – HME News, the leading source of news and analysis for the home medical equipment (HME) industry, today announced a leadership transition within its editorial team.

Long-time Managing Editor Theresa Flaherty will be moving on to lead sister publication Security Systems News, also part of United Publications. Flaherty, who joined HME News in 2005, has played a pivotal role in shaping the publication’s editorial voice and covering the evolution of the HME industry over nearly two decades.

Stepping into the managing editor role is Tracy Orzel, a familiar and respected voice within the HME industry. Orzel previously served as an associate editor for the publication from 2014-16 and has remained closely connected as a long-time contributing writer.

“Theresa has been an integral part of HME News for nearly 20 years, and her contributions to both the publication and the industry are immeasurable,” said Liz Beaulieu, editor of HME News. “We are incredibly grateful for her dedication, insight and leadership, and we wish her continued success in this next chapter with Security Systems News.
