OMAHA, Neb. – Molina Healthcare of Nebraska is “briefly postponing” its planned Sept. 1 launch of a new DME Navigator platform operated by CareCentrix and Optum for members in all lines of business.
“Additional details and a new timeline for implementation will be announced soon,” Molina stated in a July 28 update. “Providers should continue conducting business with Molina as you do today, including the processes, procedures and systems used today to submit claims, prior authorizations and other administrative functions.”
Stakeholders like the Midwest Association for Medical Equipment Services (MAMES) have been working to raise awareness of the concerns home medical equipment (HME) providers have with the program.
“MAMES will continue to keep members up to date on what we hear,” the association stated in an email bulletin. “As in the rest of our states, we’re looking at these pauses as positive developments. However, it is just a temporary reprieve. We are continuing our advocacy efforts in Nebraska, as well as Iowa and Wisconsin.”
AdaptHealth lowers outlook as new contract, manufacturer costs pressure margins
Revenue rose 12.7% in the second quarter, but implementation costs tied to a major capitated agreement weighed on results
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – AdaptHealth expanded two key payer relationships in the second quarter, completing the first full quarter under a capitated agreement with a large national integrated delivery network and signing a new agreement with Humana OneHome in South Florida and Texas to service about 478,000 members.
AdaptHealth says that the complexity of getting the first contract fully at run rate, coupled with an unexpected price increase from one of its manufacturers, impacted its margins in the second quarter and led the company to lower its full-year outlook.
“We are moving quickly to address the cost pressures introduced by our rapid growth, and we believe these actions will make us a stronger, more efficient company,” said Suzanne Foster, CEO.
AdaptHealth’s revised guidance includes a $55 million impact related to the first contract and a $30 million impact from the manufacturer price increase.
The company’s second quarter results:
- Net revenue was $740.3 million compared to $657.1 million, an increase of 12.7%
- Organic revenue growth of 15.9%, with growth across each of the company’s reportable segments
- Net loss attributable to AdaptHealth Corp. was $145.3 million compared to net income of $4.2 million, largely resulting from a $144.2 million pre-tax write down of goodwill
- Adjusted EBITDA was $132.0 million compared to $136.4 million, a decrease of 3.2%
- Cash flow from operations was $239.0 million year-to-date 2026, a decrease from $257.5 million during the comparable period in 2025, and free cash flow was negative $48.4 million year-to-date 2026, compared to $73.3 million during the comparable period in 2025
The company’s revised full-year guidance:
- Net revenue of $2.85 billion to $2.89 billion
- Adjusted EBITDA of $490 million to $520 million
- Free cash flow of $80 million to $120 million
AdaptHealth also highlighted:
- Subsequent to quarter end, it has entered into a joint venture that combines the company's e-commerce asset with a leading e-commerce sleep retailer and adds a home sleep test capability to help reach the vast undiagnosed OSA population
- It grew registered myAPP users to more than 512,000, up 56% from year end 2025, and launched an AI-powered mask-fitting tool
- Completed a workforce restructuring, generating $19 million in annualized savings while maintaining full operational delivery across all functions

Viemed’s growth engines fire as vent, sleep patient counts climb
LAFAYETTE, La. – Viemed Healthcare reported net revenues of $78.1 million for the second quarter, a 23.9% increase compared to the prior-year quarter and a company record.
The company also reported:
- Net income was $2.8 million, or $0.07 per diluted share
- Adjusted EBITDA was $13.7 million, a 4% decrease. The prior year period included a $1.0 million non-recurring gain on disposal of property and equipment related to the ventilator return program, which benefited net income and concluded during 2025
- Net cash provided by operating activities was $15.9 million
"The strength of these results reflects the durable and increasingly diversified company we have built,” said Casey Hoyt, CEO. “Viemed has multiple growth engines, strong cash generation, a solid balance sheet, and the financial flexibility to continue investing in our people, technology, and patient care capabilities. We are making those investments deliberately to support the patient growth already entering the platform, and we enter the second half of 2026 confident in Viemed's ability to deliver consistent and increasingly predictable growth."
Viemed ended the second quarter with a record 12,635 ventilator patients, a 4% increase compared to the prior-year quarter.

California removes certain requirements for wheelchair repairs
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The California Department of Health Care Services will not require treatment authorization requests (TARs) when the cumulative cost for wheelchair repair maintenance or replacement parts is less than or equal to $2,500 within a calendar month, the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART) has announced. “NCART members, consumers, and the California Department of Health Care Services have been meeting to improve the CRT benefit for California consumers,” the organization stated in an email bulletin. “With the help of Assemblywoman Maggy Krell, there have been substantial improvements for consumers who utilize CRT.” The department will require TARs (either retroactive or prior authorization) when the cumulative cost is greater than $2,500 within a calendar month. NCART also noted that for members who receive DME through their assigned Medi-Cal manage care plan, providers must adhere to those individual plans, which may include prior authorization requirements. CMS finalizes increased surety bond amount for competitive bidding program
WASHINGTON – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized the update to the DMEPOS competitive bidding program increasing the surety bond amount from $50,000 to $100,000. The update, finalized in the FY 2027 Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF) Prospective Payment System (PPS) Final Rule (CMS-1845-F), requires only one $100,000 surety bond per bidding entity, regardless of how many competitions it enters under the Remote Item Delivery (RID) model. “This change aims to deter bidders from submitting disingenuous bids,” CMS states. For all other competitions, CMS says the surety bond amount remains $50,000 and bidding entities must obtain a separate surety bond for each competitive bidding area. The agency has launched the bidder education phase of Round 2028, providing prospective bidders with information about the upcoming bidding process, eligibility requirements and key program changes before the registration and bidding periods open.
