AUSTIN, Texas – Monarch Mobility is bringing its 25 years of experience manufacturing scooters, wheelchairs and lifts in the U.K. to the U.S. market, launching operations in Austin, Texas, and establishing nationwide distribution through a Dallas-based logistics partner.
The company made its U.S. debut at Medtrade in March and quickly gained traction, signing 25 durable medical equipment (DME) providers within a month of the show.
“Our main focus in the U.S. will be on lightweight products,” said Kane Fullalove, CEO of Monarch USA. “We’re competing with two or three brands that are well known, with the same products in every store. Our products look (and perform) different, and we can compete on price.”
Focus on lightweight mobility products
Monarch Mobility is entering the U.S. with a streamlined product portfolio centered on lightweight mobility solutions, Fullalove says. Key products include the Smarti Plus, an ultra-lightweight, 35-pound scooter that folds automatically into a compact, suitcase-sized form, and the Supa Carbon Lite, a 29-pound scooter.
“We’re pushing the limit on lightweight mobility and from a styling perspective, we stand out,” Fullalove said. “We don’t stick to black colors, even with our carbon fiber coloring and our LED lighting. We want to remove some of the stigma around medical products, so they look more like lifestyle products.”
Portable lift expands offering
Monarch Mobility will also offer in the U.S. the new Atlas 4, a portable lift designed for scooters and wheelchairs weighing up to 88 pounds. The lift is designed for easy installation and removal, eliminating the need for permanent modifications, Fullalove says.
“What makes this unique is that if doesn’t need permanent installation,” he said. “This is our fourth version of this lift and we’ve finally perfected it. It installs through pressure points and can be easily transferred between vehicles.”
Agile manufacturing and product development
Looking ahead, Monarch Mobility plans to expand its U.S. product offering by incorporating feedback from DME providers and leveraging its exclusive manufacturing relationships, Fullalove says.
“We have an exclusive relationship and globally we’re their biggest customer, so there’s better turnaround,” he said. “There are no board meetings or weeks of decision-making. We can get them on the phone, and they’ll come here or we’ll go to their facility. That gives us a cutting edge in the market.”
Emphasis on dealer support
Monarch Mobility is also placing a strong focus on empowering its dealer network in the U.S., ensuring partners are equipped to grow sales efficiently and competitively, Fullalove says. This includes free, fast delivery on all units and parts, helping dealers improve customer satisfaction and reduce operating friction, he said.
The company is also investing in co‑operative, highly targeted marketing initiatives designed to drive qualified consumers directly into dealer showrooms, Fullalove says.
“We’re committed to building real momentum for our dealers,” he said. “By providing strong margins alongside meaningful marketing and logistics support, we’re helping them increase volume while maintaining healthy, sustainable growth.”
