ResMed posts 'strong' revenue growth

SAN DIEGO - ResMed has reported $530.4 million in revenue for the second fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, a 17% increase compared to the same period the previous year. It reported revenue of $326.8 million, a 21% increase, in the Americas, or $293 million, a 9% increase, excluding Brightree. “We had a strong quarter with 18% constant currency revenue growth led by solid growth in our Brightree software offerings and global device sales,” said Mick Farrell, CEO. ResMed reported $76.7 million in net income, a 20% decrease. Farrell highlighted the company's momentum going into the third quarter, including the FDA clearance of its travel CPAP, the creation of SleepScore Labs to focus on consumer sleep wellness, and the milestone of reaching 1 billion nights of sleep data on its AirView remote patient monitoring platform. “We are focused on our goal of changing the lives of 20 million patients by 2020 and we continue to lead the industry through an exciting pipeline of new products and connected care solutions,” he said.
