U.S. Rehab, Nymbl ‘make life so much easier’ for therapists

Tyler MahnckeWATERLOO, Iowa, and DUBLIN, Ohio – U.S. Rehab, a division of VGM & Associates, and Nymbl Systems have collaborated on a new software feature that allows ATPs and therapists to communicate more efficiently about wheelchair evaluations.

ATPs whose companies use Nymbl Systems can now send therapists a link to create a login and password to access the new feature, called LMN Builder, to complete evaluations – with some information like patient name and date pre-populated – and provide notes.

“We felt that our customers wanted this and needed this, particularly independent providers,” said Tyler Mahncke, senior vice president of clinical mobility and accessibility for VGM & Associates. “Most of them don’t have a proprietary software where they can build something like this themselves. We said to Nymbl Systems, ‘Hey, if we provide the expertise and industry knowledge, can you develop it? Let’s collaborate and make it the best tool in CRT.’”

U.S. Rehab contributed financially to the development of LMN Builder and Dan Fedor, its director of reimbursement and education, contributed his expertise.

LMN Builder’s ability to cut down on a lot of the back-and-forth emails and phone calls between ATPs and therapists goes beyond completing evaluations – it's also a good tool for checking in on order and billing status, say Mahncke and Josh Lau, CEO of Nymbl Systems.

“It’s technology doing what it does best – cutting down on that friction,” he said.

Mahncke sees this as just the start for LMN Builder. In the future, by leveraging artificial intelligence, the feature could play a more active role in making sure evaluations are complete and appropriate.

“It could make sure nothing is missing,” he said. “Is it missing the measurement for seat-to-floor height? Does it include range of motion? That’s exciting for our members.”
