Best Life Brands has big plans for Next Day Access

JJ SorrentiTROY, Mich. – Private equity-backed Best Life Brands, the new owner of Next Day Access, believes it has the track record to grow the company significantly in the next few years.

Best Life Brands, which is owned by The Riverside Company, has a portfolio of franchise companies that includes Blue Moon Estate Sales, an estate sales service that has grown from 25 to 125 locations since 2019.

“We strongly believe there are parallels between Next Day Access and Blue Moon on size and potential for growth,” said J.J. Sorrenti, CEO of Best Life Brands.

Next Day Access has “36 pins on the map,” with new franchise locations most recently opening in Birmingham, Ala., and Dallas, and now, as part of the Best Life Brands portfolio, has access to “high-level talent” to help accelerate its growth, Sorrenti says.

Sorrenti identified home access as his “No. 1 target” when he joined Best Life Brands in 2020. He saw a market that will boom to $30 billion by 2030 and an opportunity to leverage the company’s existing presence in the home with franchise companies like ComForCare and At Your Side.

“I thought home accessibility was a natural progression,” he said. “Inside those homes, we’re seeing people that need accessibility solutions. It’s synergistic to the brands we already have.”

Best Life Brands also has in its portfolio franchise companies CarePatrol, which provides senior placement services, and Boost Home Healthcare, which provides in-home health care.

“The common theme in all of our brands is providing comfort, independence and, most importantly, dignity,” Sorrenti said.

Having a portfolio of all franchise companies also gives Best Life Brands an advantage, Sorrenti says.

“When Mark Armstrong started ComForCare, it was because he was having trouble finding care for his mom,” Sorrenti said. “He went with franchising because he knew caring for seniors was going to be personal for families and he wanted them to be able to talk to the owner. That’s personal attention.”
