Couple charged with dispensing counterfeit drugs

TAMPA. Fla. - A Florida couple has been charged with compounding and dispensing counterfeit drugs, including the nebulizer medications albuterol and Pulmicort, as well as tobi, an inhalation drug used to treat cystic fibrosis. Patricia and Roderick Hauser were arrested after the mother of a child with cystic fibrosis showed the drug to her child's doctor. The tobi contained bacteria. The couple allegedly mixed chemicals found in brand-name drugs and sold them through their pharmacy as legitimate.
