FRANKLIN, Tenn. - With the start date closing in on the national mail-order program for diabetes supplies, Diabetes Care Club is ramping up its operations and product offerings to prepare for an expected increase in patients, according to a press release. When the program goes live, Diabetes Care Club will be among 18 companies serving Medicare beneficiaries, a drastic decrease from 2,000. “For the past two years, our top priority has been ensuring that we have the manpower, resources and products in place so that patients who need diabetic testing supplies will not experience a break in their service,” stated Michael Iskra, chief operating officer of Simplex Healthcare, the parent company of Diabetes Care Club. Iskra emphasized that Diabetes Care Club carries a range of products, including 22 models of blood glucose monitors and associated test strips from 13 manufacturers. In February, Diabetes Care Club acquired contract supplier Priority Diabetes Supply, a purchase that allowed the company to provide diabetes supplies as part of the program.
