Employee sues The Scooter Store

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - A furloughed Scooter Store mobility specialist has sued the company, citing the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, according to an article from the San Antonio Express News. The WARN Act requires employers to provide a minimum of 60 days' prior written notice of terminations, according to the lawsuit. The Scooter Store notified employees March 8 they were placed on unpaid leave until further notice. Furloughed employee Anna Urbina is seeking certification as a class action so other Scooter Store employees can be included in the complaint, the article noted.
