Enos debuts new division, location

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. - Enos Home Oxygen Therapy added home modifications to its tool kit in January and opened a second location in April in Easton, Mass. Through a new division called Enos Home Design Solutions, Enos now widens doorways, builds ramps, remodels kitchens and bathrooms, and installs grab bars and other bathroom safety equipment. The provider has a licensed contractor and two certified environmental access consultants (CEACs) on staff to do the work. "We're starting to get some business out there, but it has been a slow process," said Rich O'Berry, general manager. "That's OK, because slow growth is manageable growth. That's the way we look at it." Enos' new 2,000-square-foot location is in the Northeastern Village Shops. Easily accessible from Routes 123, 138 or 24, it allows the provider to service more patients in the greater Worcester area. O'Berry has been personally spreading the word about Enos Home Design Solutions and the provider's Easton location to referral sources. The provider works with about 100 different physician and hospital groups in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. "We don't generally do any big-splash advertising or anything like that," he said. "We want business to come in slowly, so we can stay ahead of the game." Enos added home modifications after "a little test in the community," O'Berry said. "I began asking people where they would go when they needed their doors widened, and they said, 'We just pull a contractor's name out of the phone book,'" he said. "There was never anyone in particular, and when we told them it was something we were considering, they thought it was a good idea. The feedback has been positive." HME
