Healthcare biz, two employees indicted on 26 fraud charges

DALLAS - Alpha Treatment Centers and two of its employees have been indicted by a federal grand jury on 26 counts of healthcare fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and healthcare fraud. The Dallas area company is accused of fraudently billing state and federal workers compensation insurance for durable medical equipment that doctors did not prescribe for their patients. If convicted on all counts, Hillman and White could each face up to 265 years in prison and millions of dollars in fines and restitution. Hillman and White were expected to surrender within the week.
