The HME Exposition & Conference kicked off today at the Baltimore Convention Center with numerous educational sessions (positive feedback all around) and an exhibit hall. HME News TV was hopping, so check out www.hmenews.com soon for interviews with Hymie Pogir, formerly of Invacare; Gary Sheehan, a provider; and Vince Crew, "America's Everyday Ethics Guy" and more.
Best show floor promotion goes to ZirMed (Booth 621), which offered attendees the opportunity to wear derby hats, line up at a starting gate and race broomstick ponies to a finish line. The Internet-based software vendor's booth recreated the Kentucky Derby, which takes place May 2. If you're at the Expo, stop by their booth for a chance to win a commemorative hat, T-shirt or pint glass.

P.S. The winnders of the 2009 HME Excellence Awards were announced Tuesday night: Rehab Tech (rehab), Fairmont Home Medical (HME) and Roberts Home Medical (respiratory). See future issues of HME News for profiles on the winners and runners-up.
