WASHINGTON - HME stakeholders warded off last-minute cuts to home oxygen in the waning hours of the 109th Congress in mid-December.
Home oxygen providers dodged a cut in the equipment rental period from 36 months to 13 months that was being considered as a way to offset a scheduled 5% Medicare cut in physician pay.
The issue is likely to resurface, and the industry must continue to lobby against it, said industry watchers.
