FRANKLIN, Tenn.--HME provider and Republican congressional candidate Monty Lankford lost his bid for Tennessee's 4th district seat on Nov. 4 to incumbent Lincoln Davis. The week before that, First Tennessee Bank National Association sued Lankford and his company, TLC Medical Oxygen, for fraudulent practices, according to a news report. The suit alleges he secretly acquired assets from a Knoxville company that had already put the assets up as collateral in a $2.2 million loan from the bank. The bank says it never gave permission for the assets to be sold. Lankford called the lawsuit “bogus, meritless and politically timed.”
