MA plans bundle home infusion under Part C

BALTIMORE--Chapter 6 of the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Manual includes new instructions on how Medicare Advantage (MA) plans can fold home infusion drugs into Medicare Part C along with infusion services, supplies and equipment, according to a July release from CMS. MA plans do this by providing “Part D home infusion drugs as part of a bundled service as a mandatory supplemental benefit under Part C,” the release stated. Before, home infusion drugs fell under Part D while other drugs and services weren't covered.
