McKesson gets nod in diabetes project

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - The Center for Health Care Strategies has selected McKesson Health Solutions, a business unit of McKesson, to develop test models of care delivery for Medicaid patients with chronic conditions. McKesson will receive a seed grant of $50,000 to participate in the program, called The Medicaid Value Program: Health Supports for Consumers with Chronic Conditions. The two-year initiative will assess the impact of diabetes health education in federally qualified health centers and clinics. "Many Medicaid beneficiaries have co-morbid diseases and this program provides an excellent opportunity to learn new ways of providing health education to better serve people with multiple chronic conditions," said Emad Rizk, M.D., president of McKesson Health Solutions.
