O&P agencies merge

COLUMBIA, M.D. - The Board of Certification in Pedorthics merged with the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Jan. 1. The move was approved by 89% of the two agencies' members, said Tom Derrick, public relations, marketing and professional discipline manager for ABC. "It's a good step in the right direction," he said in a statement. The integration of the two agencies will further streamline the accreditation process for O&P specialists and pedorthists. The organization will likely change its name at some point.
