Option Care 1Q profits up 23%

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. -- Option Care saw its profits increase 23% during the first quarter of 2005 as demand for its home infusion and specialty pharmacy businesses improved sharply. During the first quarter, income rose to $5.3 million, up from $4.3 million during the same quarter last year. Revenues were $121 million, a 17% increase compared to revenues of $103 million for the first quarter of 2004. Pharmacy services expanded 15% and infusion and other health care services grew 23% to $42.8 million. The company also recently closed an acquisition with two pharmacy locations in Indiana and is poised for more growth, said a release.
