Providers Crystal Lore has been appointed president of Simplex Medical, a national provider of diabetes testing and respiratory supplies located in Fort Myers, Fla. Lore's most recent experience includes serving seven years as senior vice president of new business development at Liberty Medical. She takes the position previously held by Federick Roberts, who also serves as the company's CEO. Vendors Winston Anderson, of Merits Health Products in Coral Coral, Fla., has taken a leave of absence from absence from his work at the company and is no longer involved in day-to-day operations. He is still a primary shareholder in the company, according to a Merits spokesperson. Tiara Medical Systems has announced the hiring of Timothy Quinn, RRT, as vice president of sales and national accounts. Quinn's respiratory experience includes management positions with Apria Healthcare, Respironics and Viasys. Tiara is a manufacturer and distributor of respiratory accessories with special emphasis in the area of sleep apnea. Steven Braff has joined The Braff Group with responsibility for the company's HME mergers and acquisitions in the western and mid-western states. Braff was most recently head of government sales in the west for Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratory. ContourMed has promoted Mimi San Pedro to president of the company. San Pedro joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing in July 2001 after 18 years as an advertising executive and after a life-changing year of treatment and recovery following the discovery of breast cancer. VMI has promoted several key executives. Mitch Vance has been appointed to chairman of the board. He previously served as CEO. Doug Eaton, in addition to his role as president, has been named CEO. Mark Roberts has been promoted to vice president, sales and marketing.
