Under scrutiny

The scrutiny of the home medical equipment industry continues.
AAHomecare reported yesterday that a team of investigative producers from CNN has been working on a segment on HME spending and national competitive bidding. According to the association: "AAHomecare has opened its doors to CNN and has methodically shared reams of information with the producers. AAHomecare is working to ensure accurate reporting and fair treatment by CNN." We'll keep an eye out for a clip and share it here.

that in the past several weeks it has conducted site visits at 12 HME companies and visited more than 120 patients. It found that Medicaid has paid for equipment that was missing, unused or never received. AHCA is now trying to determine if its findings are the result of billing errors, abuse of the system, or outright fraud.
