VGM Live at Home Pro goes 2.0

WATERLOO, Iowa - VGM Live at Home is slated to launch an upgraded digital platform for home accessibility companies at the Heartland Conference this week.

A number of companies were beta testing VGM Live at Home Pro 2.0 prior to the conference, in April and May.

“We had 26 companies sign up to beta test it and, although not all of them became active testers, it shows how much interest there is in the tool,” said Jim Greatorex, vice president of VGM Live at Home.

The first change VGM made to the platform was to move it in-house, transitioning it from an app to a website to improve the group's ability to make future changes and upgrades.

VGM also incorporated a dashboard into the platform that allows companies to see “their whole pipeline and where they are in the sales cycle,” Greatorex says. It also provides a number of basic templates for business practices like writing professional home evaluation assessments and pulling together price quotes.

“They can also take the templates and make them their own,” he said. “One thing we learned (with the previous app) is that everyone does things differently.”

Although the platform can be customized, one of its biggest benefits is providing a foundation for business in an upstart market that sorely lacks standardization.

“Before this tool, there was no organized way to train people to do the work the right way,” he said.

Provider Robin Campbell, a beta tester, says the platform saves time and improves efficiency by allowing her to start the assessment process on-site using her tablet and return to it back in the office using her desktop.

“It's all there, no paper,” said Campbell, president of Accessible Home Solutions in Billings, Mont.

Campbell also highlighted the platform's product inventory, which allows her to show customers their options in their homes; and its photo capabilities, which allows her to include visuals in her assessments.

“I love it already,” she said.
