CMS holds sixth competitive bidding teleconference

WASHINGTON - CMS will hold a special 30-minute teleconference on national competitive bidding at 2 p.m. EST on Monday, July 9, the agency announced late today. The agenda: “issues associated with the bidding process for the first round.” To participate in the teleconference, call 877-356-8073. Passcode: 6553095. In the meantime, CMS advised providers to: • Be aware that the Competitive Bidding Submission System (CBSS) automatically logs users out after two hours due to a systems security setting built into the bidding process. During the teleconference, CMS will discuss measures to expedite the overall bidding process and to manage data entered into the system. • Track the time you're in the system. When you're in the system for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, you should save your data and log off the system entirely. After completely exiting the system, you can go back and begin another session on the application. • Ensure that you keep your bidding session active by sending information to the server at least every 30 minutes. You should press the “update” or “submit” button on your current page or visit your home page by clicking on the “home” link on the top left corner of the application.
