TWINSBURG, Ohio - Edgepark has added urologicals to its ostomy storefront, marking the latest step in its strategy to enhance the patient experience and simplify processes for prescribers, says Yelena Brusilovsky.
The company on Nov. 17 added urologicals to the ostomy storefront that it first debuted in 2024 on Parachute’s e-prescribing platform. It also offers breast pumps and diabetes management products through the platform.
“We want to be a one-stop shop for what are often overlapping conditions between these product categories,” said Brusilovsky, vice president of commercial sales ADSG | Edgepark. “This really makes the referral and order management process simpler and more streamlined, reduces administrative burdens and helps patients receive their necessary supplies quick and more efficiently.”
Through Parachute, Edgepark’s average response time is about four minutes from an initial chat query, and a “significant” portion of patient orders ship the same day or within 24 hours, she said.
White glove dedication
Edgepark continues to prioritize human touch, says Brusilovsky. The company offers dedicated “white glove” customer service for patients recovering from spinal cord injuries or transitioning from hospitals or other care facilities—a process that often requires complex coordination of supplies, insurance and medical documentation.
“We essentially have a single customer care agent that is dedicated to managing a referral from intake to shipment – one person that is tethered to that referral, without having handoffs or delays in the process,” she said. “That’s one way of ensuring that the human element remains core at everything we do.”
Easier pathway for SCI patients
Edgepark’s focus on urological products comes as Medicare simplifies coverage requirements for catheters. In November, the agency released a local coverage determination (LCD) stating that documentation of any spinal cord injury diagnosis will be sufficient to establish Medicare coverage for sterile catheter kits (A4297 and A4353) starting Jan. 1.
“This represents a pretty big simplification that will improve patient access and streamline order management for DME suppliers,” she said. “It’s a really exciting and important time for patients and prescribers.”
Aligned on crucial mission
In August, Edgepark also entered a formal partnership with United Spinal Association, which represents 5.5 million wheelchair users.
“We’re really proud to align ourselves with an organization that is so deeply trusted by the community that we have the privilege of serving and support their crucial mission of providing active lifestyle to achieve the highest quality of life,” she said.
