Giant New York independent gains 1,000 oxygen patients

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - The largest provider of DME and respiratory services in the New York metropolitan area just got a lot bigger. Landauer-Metropolitan, which generates an estimated $50 million in revenue annually, announced last week that it has acquired Miller Medical & Respiratory in Philadelphia, Pa. The acquisition includes 1,000 respiratory patients. Landauer CEO Louis Rocco called the acquisition a good fit for several reasons. Miller is located in a large market--Philadelphia's the fifth largest city in the United States; the location expands Landauer's coverage in southern New Jersey; and the deal comes with a capable management team. "Our goal is to be a regional player with coverage from Delaware to Connecticut," said Landauer CFO Joe Luceri. "Miller is a key part of this". Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Paragon Ventures, a healthcare M&A adviser based in Philadelphia, handled the transaction for Miller.
