GLEN ALLEN, Va. – Home Care Delivered (HCD) plans to lay off 73 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notice filed with Virginia’s Department of Workforce Development and Advancement on Oct. 6.
When reached for comment, HCD, a provider of disposable medical supplies, said the layoffs follow a strategic review and involve restructuring several back-office functions. The eliminated positions are not customer-facing, the company said.
“These changes enhance our ability to deliver the quality care, compassionate service and reliable support to patients and providers that has defined Home Care Delivered and (has built) our 91% customer satisfaction rating, one of the highest in the industry, reflecting (our) 29-year history of excellence and commitment to care,” the company stated. “Home Care Delivered will be maintaining its corporate headquarters, along with its eight other offices throughout the U.S.”
The layoffs, scheduled to take place Dec. 10, will affect 73 employees at the company’s fourth floor office at 11013 West Broad St. in Glen Allen, Va., according to the notice.
HCD offers supplies for diabetes, incontinence, urology, wound care and ostomy. It also provides equipment like blood pressure monitors, breast pumps and nutritional supplements.
