NEW YORK – Tennr will leverage the HME expertise of Bruna Dos Santos, who built a breast pump program from scratch at AdaptHealth, to boost its footprint in the market.
The company, which currently has about 100 providers using its platform, announced it was bringing Dos Santos on board in late February.
“They have a significant footprint considering how new they are, but their potential for impact is far greater,” said Dos Santos. “I envision Tennr becoming as important to a provider’s tech stack as Outlook or Gmail. It’s not a question of if but when and how.”
Tennr also recently announced $37 million in Series B funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, bringing its total raise to more than $61 million.
Homing in on automation
While her experience at AdaptHealth exposed her to “every aspect” of a provider’s business, it’s at Accelleron, which specializes in maternity equipment and nebulizers, where Dos Santos says she homed in on automation to develop a patient portal and a resupply identification system.
“That’s where I realized my passion lies in driving efficiency and optimizing processes, and that’s what led me to Tennr,” she said.
Getting ready to listen
Dos Santos sees a big part of her new job at Tennr as listening.
“Where I think I can really make an impact on Tennr’s footprint is by truly understanding the pain points of DMEs,” she said. “What one company struggles with may not be a challenge for another, and Tennr is not a one-size-fits-all solution. The real opportunity lies in helping Tennr build the best workflows for our clients so they can operate more efficiently. The more we tailor our technology to meet the unique needs of DMEs, the more indispensable Tennr becomes to the industry.”
Joining the revolution
Dos Santos says every provider is facing the same pressure to do more with less in the face of increasing costs, decreasing reimbursement and staffing shortages, and automation can help them to scale in spite of it all. That’s why she can’t see anything but hockey stick growth for Tennr.
“To be able to say to a referral, ‘Send in information however is easiest for you and we’ll handle the rest,’ and deliver on that – that’s revolutionary,” she said. “This is the type of efficiency that allows for growth exponentially.”
