CMS on bid amounts: 'Keep your ear to the ground'

BALTIMORE - HME stakeholders waiting to find out the Round 2 payment amounts got a short update during the Nov. 28 Open Door Forum.
"We will be announcing those single payment amounts through the normal notification process that CMS has in place," a CMS official told listeners on the forum. "Keep an ear out for any updates in the coming weeks."
CMS's notification process includes listserv messages and updates to the CBIC website at www.dmecompetitivebid.com.
CMS closed the bid window for Round 2 on March 30. Its plan is to announce the payment amounts sometime this fall and the contract winners sometime in the spring.
Also during the call, CMS officials reminded providers who plan to bid in the Round 1 recompete that the window is quickly drawing to a close. Providers must submit bids through DBidS by 9 pm EST Friday, Dec. 14. CMS must receive the required hard copy documentation by 11:59 EST on Dec. 14.
CMS officials urge providers who have questions on the Round 1 recompete to call 1-877-577-5331 "immediately."
