A Turning Leaf embraces change

SALEM, Ore. - In today's HME market, it could be considered rare to hear from a provider who says things are going well.

Since HME News wrote about A Turning Leaf last October, owner Anne Turner says she's added more than 400 new customers. She's also increased her retail space from 800 square feet between her two locations in Salem and Lebanon, Ore., to more than 1,800 square feet and is in the process of hiring two new people.

“There really is hope in this market,” said Turner. “You just have to embrace the change.”

What's behind A Turning Leaf's growth? Separating the company from the pack by  adding more retail items, sponsoring charity events like a CPAP donation drive and writing articles for a local news group, like a recent piece about “spring cleaning for CPAP.”

She also works to keep good relationships with local physicians by maintaining good CPAP compliance, she said, as well as staying away from a “hard sell” approach.
