INDIANAPOLIS – George’s Pharmacy & Medical Equipment has named Indianapolis 500 champion Al Unser Jr. as its official spokesperson. Their partnership will include television, radio, social media and community outreach initiatives designed to increase awareness of the company’s pharmacy, durable medical equipment (DME) and home accessibility services.
Unser’s reputation, credibility and connection with consumers make him an ideal ambassador for the George's brand, the company says.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Al Unser Jr. to the George's Pharmacy & Medical Equipment family," said Butch Martin, executive vice president. "Independent research indicates Al maintains more than 90% name recognition among our core target audience of adults aged 45 and older. His championship legacy, trustworthiness, and strong connection with the communities we serve make him a tremendous fit for our organization."
Unser, one of the most recognizable figures in motorsports history, won the Indianapolis 500 in 1992 and 1994 and remains a fan favorite among racing enthusiasts nationwide.
The partnership is expected to launch later this summer with a series of advertising campaigns, public appearances and customer engagement events throughout Indiana.
"Al has served as a product spokesperson on a national level and understands how to connect with consumers in an authentic and meaningful way," said Michaela Lecher, CDMP, and marketing strategist for George’s. "Throughout our discussions, he has demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism, preparation, and commitment. We are confident he will be a valuable representative of our company and our mission."
