SAINT-ROCH-DE-L’ACHIGAN, Quebec – Motion Composites is now selling the HELIO Kids A and HELIO Kids C pediatric ultralightweight folding wheelchairs in the United States. HELIO Kids A, which is made of aluminum, joins the existing HELIO Kids C, which is made of carbon fiber, in Canada and international markets. “Designing mobility for children requires a different approach,” said Pier Alexandre Ethier, vice president of product development at Motion Composites. “Our goal with HELIO Kids was to preserve the performance DNA of the HELIO platform and its proven folding system while addressing the realities of pediatric mobility. By bringing together our one-piece side frame design, a depth-adjustable back that evolves with growth and WC19 transit safety certification in a single platform, HELIO Kids delivers adaptability without sacrificing performance.” Last year, Motion Composites officially opened its new U.S. assembly facility in Plattsburgh, N.Y. The company said this strategic move reinforced its long-standing commitment to U.S. customers and end-users by providing U.S.- assembled wheelchairs.
